Chrono Odyssey, the highly anticipated MMORPG from Chrono Studio, was originally slated for release at the end of 2025. After concluding their closed beta on June 23rd, the team published a comprehensive post-mortem detailing the lessons learned and the enhancement roadmap leading into the next phase.
Technical and Gameplay Improvements
In Part 1 of their report, recently published, developers acknowledged that while many players enjoyed the core experience, critical areas fell short of expectations: combat responsiveness, animation quality, camera behavior, performance optimization, and graphical fidelity.

- Combat: Overhauling mechanics for greater fluidity, refining hit-feedback timing, separating motion and combat packet data, and introducing a new weapon progression system called “Matrix.”
- Camera & Controls: Fixing lock-on inconsistencies and collision issues between the camera and the environment.
- Performance: Restructuring asset rendering with Instanced Static Mesh systems and trim sheets to reduce GPU load and memory usage. Collision data will load dynamically based on proximity and line of sight to improve stability.
- Graphics: Consolidating shaders, revising lighting systems, adding DLSS and FSR support, and enhancing image quality via improved Temporal Super Resolution settings.

UI/UX, Audio & Server Stability
Part 2 of the report will address remaining areas such as user interface and experience (UI/UX), sound design, character progression, and server stability. Chrono Studio reiterates its commitment to transparency and polish—acknowledging that these broad-ranging issues could push the game’s launch beyond the initial window.
As the team states, “We don’t plan on rushing ahead without first getting things right.” A reassuring stance that bodes well for delivering a robust, refined MMORPG when Chrono Odyssey eventually arrives.
